Tarot spread

My 12 Days of Yule tarot spread that I did was finally analyzed today. I really had a hard time making sense of the whole reading at first because I wasn't seeing connections between the cards and the positions they were in. I found a web site for tarot meanings that helped me with several cards called biddytarot.  So here's my analysis. I am a novice tarot reader especially for myself but I hope to get better eventually.

Page of Wands my dreams of the coming year - are influenced by a faithful envoy, but there will be change and new beginnings. I should not be lonely but instead follow my creative urge and express my individuality.

Eight of Wands is how to connect to the inner light within and I can do that by moving forward in a spiritual, mental or physical way. I am connecting to my inner light by approaching my goal. New ideas are there but they need swift action. I need to declare myself.

King of Wands deals with my resistance to following my dreams and this is related to confidence, excitement and energy.

Knight of Cups is the best way to seek renewal and that is through my imagination and seeking my dreams. The knight of the cups denotes the arrival of someone or something. An invitation or request may be received.

The Empress tells me how to connect with the spirits of my ancestors which would be through nature and my senses. The Empress indicates that spirit is about to intervene in your life. It may be just enough to give you a glimpse of the miraculous; it may be more. You may or may not know who bestows such good fortune, but the care and nurturing that will result come as no accident. You will come to see that you are not alone, that you are being watched over. What appears to be coincidental good luck may actually be the result of a series of good choices you have made. It's your turn to have things work out, to be blessed and nurtured. Relax in the knowledge that you are in good hands and that you are worthy of receiving this loving embrace.

Three of Wands represents how I am to connect with my own spirit which is to dream beyond my current limitations and accept my vision so I can help others. I can also connect to my spirit through exploring and be willing to step forward.

Justice shows me how I am to nurture others including my family. I just realized that this card is somewhat aligned to me because I am a Libra. Duh I didn’t make that connection at all before. Something needs deciding and mediation or a solution and a lesson is learned. I need to figure out what is best for myself in order to be the best for others.

Ace of Pentacles is the card to represent my art/creative endeavors and female wisdom in the coming year. I will find security, wealth and success in these areas. This card comes up a lot for me which I think is good regardless of the meaning really.

10 of Pentacles is how I connect to my inner child and playfulness. From the biddytarot.com web site it says this card is a symbol of financial security, accomplishment, and comfort. That doesn’t really make sense unless you think of it in terms of  being able to rest and enjoy the fruits of my labor, literally and figuratively.

The man in on the card is retired and finding joy while looking at the lives of his children and grandchildren. Maybe my playfulness is coming this year from my two children.

The Hanged Man is representing my personal inner message that I will receive this year. Apparently I need to get in touch with the reason I feel restricted or stuck. I can surrender and win which is a paradox. I might be giving too much to others at the expense of my own mental and spiritual well-being. I can relate to this exactly.

Five of Pentacles is how I can walk on a relaxed path during the next year. Because this could mean difficulty with money and material things I think that I should let go of a lack of confidence with making any money from anything and the importance it sometimes seems to have. I will be at peace if I follow my heart and I don’t let money anxiety pop up during the next year.

King of Swords is showing me how I can release the old and let in the new for the year. I can cut through any confusion about events of the past and then move forward with the coming year with power and accomplish all of my desires.

Lots of court cards & other "people" in your spread! Interesting.

I have not done my 2009 spread yet; usually I draw 13 cards, one for each moon cycle of the year...

I've tried learning tarot before, but it just confused me-I think it's great that you are learning it!!!
